Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kompleksnya tantangan bisnis era globalisasi yang menuntut kinerja karyawan yang optimal. PT Jakarta Prima Cranes sebagai perusahaan alat berat menyadari pentingnya komunikasi efektif dan fleksibilitas kerja, namun peran trust dalam manajemen dan employee engagement sebagai mediator belum terintegrasi dalam penelitian sebelumnya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis pengaruh komunikasi efektif dan fleksibilitas kerja terhadap kinerja karyawan dengan trust dan employee engagement sebagai variabel mediasi di PT Jakarta Prima Cranes. Penelitian kuantitatif ini menggunakan kuesioner yang disebarkan kepada 200 karyawan, dan data dianalisis dengan Partial Least Square (PLS). Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa komunikasi efektif dan fleksibilitas kerja berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan. Trust dalam manajemen juga terbukti berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja dan berhasil memediasi pengaruh komunikasi efektif. Namun, employee engagement tidak menunjukkan pengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja dan tidak berperan sebagai mediator yang efektif antara fleksibilitas kerja dan kinerja. Simpulannya, untuk meningkatkan kinerja, perusahaan perlu memprioritaskan penguatan komunikasi efektif, kebijakan kerja fleksibel, dan pembangunan trust, sementara strategi employee engagement perlu dievaluasi ulang efektivitasnya dalam konteks organisasi ini.
This research is motivated by the complex business challenges of the globalization era which demand optimal employee performance. PT Jakarta Prima Cranes as a heavy equipment company is aware of the importance of effective communication and work flexibility, however the role of trust in management and employee engagement as a mediator has not been integrated in previous research. The aim of this research is to analyze the influence of effective communication and work flexibility on employee performance with trust and employee engagement as mediating variables at PT Jakarta Prima Cranes. This quantitative research used a questionnaire distributed to 200 employees, and the data was analyzed using Partial Least Square (PLS). The research results prove that effective communication and work flexibility have a significant effect on employee performance. Trust in management is also proven to have a significant effect on performance and is successful in mediating the influence of effective communication. However, employee engagement does not show a significant influence on performance and does not act as an effective mediator between work flexibility and performance. In conclusion, to improve performance, companies need to prioritize strengthening effective communication, flexible work policies, and building trust, while employee engagement strategies need to be re-evaluated for their effectiveness in this organizational context.
